Peter Firmin (British b. 1928)


Peter Firmin was born in Harwich and studied at the Colchester school of Art. He learned wood engraving from Gertrude Hermes (one of the most accomplished artists of that medium). He normally uses pen ink and wash for his drawings. He has worked with writer Oliver Postgate for a number of years, collaborating on both Bagpuss and Basil Brush.
