Alex Williams (British, b. 1942)


Alex Williams was born in Reading and spent his childhood in Cambridgeshire.
He trained at St.Martins School of Art under the tutelage of celebrated pop artist Peter Blake.
After a short spell in teaching in Hertfordshire, Alex set up his own design and print studio in Hay on Wye. It was in Welsh Border country that he became very successful with his paintings of agriculture, farm landscapes and animals. As he says:- "The countryside there demanded top be painted with an urgency that could not be ignored".

Alex has exhibited in numerous group and one man shows. His work is represented in many public and commercial arenas, the National Musuem of Wales have recently purchased a number of his landscapes of the Welsh Borders and he has collaborated very successful with the National Trust on a range of products.

Most recently, Alex has been painting Cotswold landscapes.
