Marion Rhodes RE (British, 1907-1999)


Painter, etcher and aquatint engraver of landscapes and architectural views. Born in Huddersfield, she studied at the art school there, at Leeds College of Art and at the Central School of Arts and Crafts. She exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Paris Salon, where she won gold, silver and bronze medals. Marion Rhodes was elected member of the Society of Graphic Art in 1936 and to the Royal Society of Engravers in 1953. Her work is represented in several public collections, including the British Museum.
