Rosemary Myers (British) |

"The scent of a freshly printed book is an exotic, exciting smell and it lured me to printmaking. To embark on making a print in any form is to start an adventure. I may know in which direction my image will go but the process takes over and dictates the final result. I am completely addicted to printmaking. I abandon myself to flow with the medium, attempt to control it and discover new horizons." (the artist.)
Rosemary Myers worked as a freelance illustrator for books and magazines before turing to printmaking. The chance purchase of an Albion Press gave her the ability to produce relief prints but she returned to Cambridge School of Art to explore etching, lithography and screenprinting in the then recently started MA Fine Art course. She continues to be fascinated by printmaking and is constantly exploring new processes to achieve different effects. Her work was accepted for exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London for 'Originals 07.'
Work by Myers has been exhibited at the Royal Society of Wood Engravers,
New English Mall Galleries, The Society of Women artists, The Fry Gallery, Saffron Walden, Lewellyn Alexander Gallery, London, The West of England Academy, Bristol, Fire Engine House, Ely, Cambridge Drawing Society and she won a print prize at SEIFAS, London.
