1. Born 1956 in Denver, Norfolk
2. 1977 BSc University of Reading
3. 1979 PGCE University of Reading
4. 1982 MA University of London
5. 1991 Produced first wood engravings; likened the process to "remembering, rather than learning".
6. 1993, Studied with Sarah Van Niekirk. Elected to the Cambridge Drawing Society.
7. 1997 “Monet’s Gardeners” critics choice at the Cambridge Drawing Society Exhibition. Elected to Society of Wood Engravers.
8. 2000 Develops an interest in engraving bookplates. Exhibiting widely in Britain and abroad
9. 2004-5 Built new studio and restores 1865 Albion Printing Press.
10. 2006. Retired from teaching to concentrate of engraving and printing. Second Albion press purchased.
11. 2007 Developed new website (www.andyenglish.com). Produced first hand made book from the Oak Apple Press

Statement:
Artistically, I am a miniaturist and the small scale and precision of wood engraving suits me. My work is unashamedly rural and autobiographical. I place emphasis on drawing as preparation for my work.
