Anthony Davies (British, b. 1947)


Anthony Davies set up his own printmaking workshop in Belfast in 1986 following a printmaking fellowship at the Royal College of Art. He was artist-in-residence at the Foyle Arts Centre, Derry in 1987. He studied at Winchester School of Art from 1966-70, the Royal College of Art 1970-73 and the British School at Rome 1973-75. He taught at a number of colleges in the UK before coming to Northern Ireland in 1984 to teach printmaking at the University of Ulster. Davies works on urban themes infused with a strong sense of social conscience. Examples of his work are held in the Arts Council collections.
