Here at the Cambridge Book & Print Gallery we maintain that it is possible to combine affordability and quality which is why we only handle work by already highly established artists at reasonable prices. For around the same price as acquiring work by unknown, "up-and-coming" artists our clients are able to acquire work by already established artists with a solid price record within the art market. Charlotte Arnold founded the Cambridge Book & Print Gallery in 2001 with the aim of establishing a gallery that would combine prints, rare books and fine art. Previously, she worked for a number of galleries both in Paris and London and as a specialist at Sotheby's Auctioneers in Bond Street, London. She holds two degrees from Cambridge University: an MA in French and Russian and an M. Phil. in the History and Philosophy of Science and Medicine, for which she wrote a thesis on the scientific library of Joseph Banks. Charlotte's particular areas of interest within the broad field of book collecting are signed modern first editions, rare inscribed, dedicated or 'association' copies, and artist's reference books. She also has a wide-ranging interest in British and European printmaking and drawing from the nineteenth century to the present day.

Charlotte is dedicated to researching all of the works that she sells as thoroughly and comprehensively as possible. Cataloguing is as detailed as possible and relevant references to catalogues raisonnés and bibliographies are always cited. She is also dedicated to matching the right piece with her clients' interests and needs and she offers the service of locating hard-to-find books that she does not have in stock herself. The exhibitions that she has held over the last eight years in the Cambridge Book & Print Gallery have included survey shows of modern printmaking, children's illustrators, and one-man exhibitions of British and Commonwealth artists.

Dr. Peter Maber, of the University of Cambridge, is a consultant to the gallery, and writes and researches for us. Aside from his main fields of English and American literature, he works on Modern British art, with a particular interest in the St Ives artists. His recent work has appeared in the journals 'Arizona Quarterly' and 'Word & Image'. 
 
All works featured on this site are catalogued to the highest possible standard, attributions are fully guaranteed by us. However should any item purchased subsequently turn out to be not 'as described' then a full refund would be issued immediately, and it should be returned to us in the original condition within seven days of receipt. Condition of books and works on paper is mentioned for every item if it is of note (where works are in as published/fine condition, no comment is given), however, photographs of works, in particular those with frames and therefore glass can sometimes differ from the original and they are only intended as an indication of the work or book, so please telephone if you require any further information.

Experience has taught us that although websites are great, most of our clients appreciate and prefer a human touch and we aim to provide the same personal and friendly service in or out of our gallery.
